Do you provide free estimates?

Yes we do! Symmetry Electric will schedule a site visit and gather additional details in order to give you a fair and accurate estimate. We do not charge for this process. You should receive the estimate within 48 hours of our site visit.

Do I need an electrical permit for my project?

Depending on the electrical work being conducted, there may be a requirement to pull an electrical permit. As a licensed electrical contractor, Symmetry Electric will coordinate all necessary electrical permits and inspections with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).

Should I hire an unlicensed electrician for my electrical work?

Symmetry Electric does not recommend that any electrical work be performed by unlicensed individuals. We are licensed, insured and only employ competent electricians that are up to date with current electrical code requirements.

What is a service upgrade?

A service upgrade is the process of upgrading your electrical meter base, breaker panel and main service conductors allowing for a greater electrical capacity. Symmetry electric installs large capacity breaker panels allowing for future electrical demands to be met. If you are thinking of buying an electric vehicle, electric spa or sauna, please contact us to ensure that your current electrical panel and service can safely handle the additional loads.

Are your electricians licensed and competent?

Yes! As a licensed and insured electrical contractor regulated through the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), we only hire competent electricians. Our electricians are in good standing with the Ontario College of Trades and are up to date with current electrical code requirements.

What is the most common home EV charger, and how fast does it charge?

Accepted Answer

The most common home EV charger is called a level 2 charger. Depending on the make and model of your vehicle, a level 2, 240v, 40 amp EV charger would allow for approximately 30 to 40km of range per charging hour.
