To dispose of them, simply drop off your containers at one of our 1,200 drop-off points in Quebec. Do not throw leftover paint with household waste or down the sink, as paint is a significant source of groundwater pollution. You can locate the nearest drop-off point here.

As a citizen, what is the limit of paint containers I can bring to a drop-off point?

If you choose to go to a municipal drop-off point, you must contact them to validate their policy on the number of containers accepted. Some municipalities impose a reasonable limit, while others do not. For drop-off points at paint retailers, they usually accept about a dozen containers. If you have more, it is recommended to check with the store before going.

What products are accepted and refused by your program?

Accepted products are architectural paints, used by most people for residential renovation work (e.g., latex, alkyd, metal, oil, melamine paints, etc.). Refused products fall into 5 categories: industrial paints, automotive paints, paint-related products (strippers, solvents, and thinners), specialty paints, and other products that do not belong to any paint family. You can consult the list of accepted products for more details.

Recycling your paint helps the Earth. Through the Éco-Peinture program, approximately 7 million kilograms of paint per year are diverted away from landfills.
